Michael Dawson has spoken of his desire to win a place in Fabio Capello's England squad alongside Tottenham team-mate Jonathan Woodgate. The Spurs stopper has been in fine form since the January arrival of Woodgate and has struck up a promising partnership with the England man.
And having impressed again at the weekend against Middlesbrough, with Capello in the stands, Dawson has set his sights on a call-up.
"Woody's a great player and he's been fantastic since he arrived," he told the club's official website.
"He's been a great signing for the club. I've been hoping to get my first cap for a long time, but all I can do is keep playing well for Spurs and put in good performances."
Dawson has previously won 13 caps for the England Under-21 side.
