Cardiff midfielder Stephen McPhail believes the team will benefit from having a full week to prepare for their trip to Scunthorpe. The Bluebirds are five points off the play-off zone, but have a game in hand on teams above them, and will be looking to cut the gap with victory over relegated Scunthorpe.
The FA Cup finalists trip to Glanford Park will be the rest of three successive away ties with trips to Wolves and Burnley coming up.
And McPhail says as long as a spot in the top six is viable they will continue to strive for it, he said: "We have a chance and we certainly won't give up on anything.
"We have a week off for the first time in a month and that's exactly what was needed. It's a chance to recuperate and we'll be ready for Scunthorpe on Saturday."
