Moore still holds play-off hopes

Tue 15 Apr, 12:45 PM

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore still believes his side can earn a play-off place despite lying five points off sixth with only three games left.Their 2-0 home defeat to fellow promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest on Saturday seemed to all but end Rovers' chances of making the play-offs but Moore is determined not to let his players give up just yet.

"We've got to try and win three games and see where they take us," Moore told the club's official website.

"We've made it difficult for ourselves, there's no doubt about that. If you play awful and lose you can take it, but if you have the lion's share of the game it can be hard to take.

"It's about putting the ball in the back of the net and unfortunately for us I think we're about a dozen goals short this season.

"If we had a dozen more we'd be cruising in the play-off places."
