West Brom boss Tony Mowbray admits Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has 'added an extra ingredient' to Wolves ahead of the crucial Black Country derby.Mowbray, preparing his Baggies troops for Tuesday night's crunch league clash at Molineux, enquired about Ebanks-Blake when he was in charge at Hibs and the youngster was at Manchester United.
The Baggies chief decided not to make a move for Ebanks-Blake in the January transfer window and Wolves signed him from Plymouth for £1.5million.
Ebanks-Blake has been in stunning form for his new club, helping to fire Wolves up from mid-table to within striking distance of a play-off place.
West Brom are looking to return to the top of the Championship table with victory over their local rivals - but Mowbray is wary of the threat presented by Ebanks-Blake.
"He has made an obvious difference to their season, adding an extra ingredient to their team," Mowbray told the Daily Star. "I'm sure everyone in the league was fully aware he was available to take - and knew the price.
"Wolves took him and it has paid dividends.
"I didn't feel we needed to add at that time but the bottom line is he has done exceptionally well. He is a talented young boy."
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy accepts that West Brom have quality strikers of their own, but is expecting an open game.
"They have been terrific and scored lots of goals - but they have conceded a few more than us as well," said McCarthy.
"There will be no surprises as we know all about them. I will just tell my players to go out and play the game, not the occasion."
