Emanuel Pogatetz would be keen to sign a long-term deal at Middlesbrough after an impressive season.The Austrian has excelled at centre-back and is enjoying his role as captain after taking over from midfielder Julio Arca.

The 25-year-old still has two years left on his contract but is keen to commit his future to the Riverside club.

"I would like to be here as long as possible but it's up to the club," he told the Evening Gazette. "I don't know what their plans are. It's not in my hands and all I can say is I'm very happy here.

"I really like the club and the supporters, I'm really settled at Boro and to captain the club is really special for me."
