Viduka tips bright future for Toon

Tue 15 Apr, 09:30 AM

Newcastle striker Mark Viduka thinks next season could be a big year for Kevin Keegan's Magpies if they maintain their current form. The Magpies had been heading slowly towards the relegation trapdoor, but a run of three wins and a draw from their last four league games has pulled the club to safety.

With Keegan now getting the best out of his troops, Viduka cannot see why the team would be unable to continue their fine run of form next season.

"We are beginning to see the potential of this team, and I think the players are starting to look around and think: 'We could be on to something here'," said Viduka.

"If we keep playing this way then next season could be a big one for us.

"We're getting more and more used to the system and we're getting better and better with each game we play like this.

"Everyone knows their job a lot better and there's no confusion about your role. We're a team that's very difficult to beat now."
