Thu 15 May, 04:45 PM

Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has admitted that he hopes to sign a new goalkeeper during the summer ahead of next season. The Scot wants to provide competition for places for the number one jersey, which is currently occupied by Paul Smith.

"I think it's something we've got to look at. We've got Paul Smith and three youngsters - Dale Roberts, Paddy Gamble and Shane Redmond," he told the club's official website.

"We'll need a more experienced goalkeeper to a degree and we need someone to put Paul under a little bit more pressure.

"He was very calm and has done his job extremely well but we would probably start next season with a goalkeeper on the bench."
