Chairman still keen on Moss move

Thu 15 May, 02:30 PM

Macclesfield chairman Mike Rance has re-iterated the club's desire to move away from Moss Rose and relocate to a new stadium. The League Two strugglers have previously signalled their intentions to make a switch from their current home, which holds 6,335 spectators.

But despite the club's disappointments on the pitch and various delays with proceedings, Rance has confirmed he is still keen to move away from 'the Moss'.

He told the club's official website: "It remains our intention to relocate to a new stadium but these things are complex and progress is always slower than ideal.

"Like most Macc fans I have a real soft spot for the Moss but there is no question that its limitations are holding us back in many areas.

"If we are to achieve our aspirations and become a club that is capable of sustaining a competitive presence at a higher level, then we really need to move to a new location."
