Thu 15 May, 01:00 PM

Charlton striker Izale McLeod is making good progress in his rehabilitation from cruciate knee-ligament damage.McLeod went under the surgeon's knife six weeks ago after suffering the injury while on loan at Colchester, and is targeting a return to action by the end of the year.

"I spoke to (physio) Steve Allen earlier this week and he's pretty pleased with my progress," he told the club's official website.

"Obviously I don't want to rush anything, but it's six weeks since my operation and I'm pretty pleased with how things have been going.

"I just want to concentrate on my recovery now, and when I come back I want to be bigger, fitter, stronger and ready to go."
