Stoke boss Tony Pulis says he will work through the summer to give his side the best chance of survival in the Premier League next season. The Potters have gone 23 years without top-flight football and, after they clinched automatic promotion from the Championship, Pulis is determined to ensure an extended stay back there.
He told the club's official website: "I am desperate to keep pushing this job on, and that is not going to happen with me jetting off and sitting on the beach with a cigar and a brandy.
"We have exceeded many peoples' expectations and reached the Premier League, now we mustn't take our foot off the gas. We want to be competitive and know how hard it's going to be, but with a lot of hard work and dedication anything is possible."
He added: "Now we've got there, I, like everyone else, don't want to come back down. We are a Premier League club and want it to stay that way."
