Perry Wins Premier League Place

Thu 15 May, 11:09 PM

Joe Perry beat Mark Selby 3-1 in the final of Group Eight in Championship League Snooker to take the lucrative spot in the Premier League starting in September.

The man from Cambridge made two centuries in beating Ryan Day 3-1, who topped the group after the league phase in the first semi final. Selby had beaten Shaun Murphy in the other play-off by the same score.

It crowned a great end to the season for the man from Cambridge on the back of his run to the last four at the Crucible and was quite a turnaround after he had finished the first day bottom of the group.

In addition to the trophy and total prize money from the event of £29,100, Perry said winning a place in the Premier League proper was the icing on the cake after his run in Sheffield.
