Barnsley have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players towards the end of their clash with Coventry in April.

The Tykes were heading for a 1-0 win at The Ricoh Arena when Freddy Eastwood's shot appeared to hit Bobby Hassell on the chest in the penalty box.

Although referee Steven Cook initially waved play on, his assistant Martin Dexter flagged and a penalty was awarded.

Barnsley's players then angrily surrounded both referee and linesman before Elliott Ward stepped up to convert for the spot.

As a result the Reds have been charged with "failing to ensure its players and/or officials conduct themselves in an orderly fashion" and have until May 27 to respond.
