What Manchester City need is a striker. A striker like Didier Drogba, who is being linked with a £15m summer move to Eastlands.
The Drog might be 31, but there is nobody better at playing as a lone target man and banging in 25 goals a season. For the same price as Roque Santa Cruz, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan would be mad not to.
What Manchester City do not need is another fancy-dan Brazilian attacking midfielder who won't track back. Another fancy-dan Brazilian attacking midfielder who won't track back like Ronaldinho, who is being linked with a £10m summer move to Eastlands.
The one-time best player in the world has failed to nail down a regular place in the Milan first team, having proved incompatible with fellow fancy-dan Brazilian attacking midfielder who won't track back Kaka - another City target, obviously.
City narrowly* failed to land Ronaldinho last summer, but the player's reputation has plummeted far enough to make the sight of him in light blue next season sound feasible.
(*comprehensively)
Chelsea are growing tired of Carlo Ancelotti's umming and aahing about whether to quit Milan and move to Stamford Bridge.
Roman Abramovich is reportedly ready to ditch his first choice and turn to Frank Rijkaard, of whom little has been heard since leaving Barcelona at the end of last season.
Rijkaard's coaching record is patchy. Yes, he took Barcelona to two Liga title and won the Champions League to boot, but he also got Sparta Rotterdam relegated.
Whatever, he seems certain to bring an attacking philosophy to the club. Although you could argue Big Phil Scolari did the same thing and was fired on account of Chelsea's wretched defending.
Having been linked with Emmanuel Adebayor yesterday, Chelsea appear poised to employ Russia wing-back Yuri Zhirkov to fire crosses at the Togolese's forehead.
On the subject of yet another Brazilian flair player, Deco could be the latest big name Brazilian to return home if he gets sent to Corinthians on loan. Yes, GS knows he plays for Portugal, but he's Brazilian. OK?
Antonio Valencia's sparkling display for Wigan against Manchester United has, apparently, convinced both United and Real Madrid that the winger is worth £20m.
Tottenham loaned Chris Gunter out to Nottingham Forest earlier this season, and now the Tricky Trees want to make the deal permanent.
After watching Lukasz Fabianski's series of calamitous displays, Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for another goalkeeper, and is set to give a trial to Independiente's Damian Emiliano Martinez.

number 73. Man u 2 Man city 0!! You cant buy class like that!!. even if you do get the "overpriced" players you need?, they still got to perform for there price, the one's u have brought in this season haven't!.
well id say it could happen because with all the money city got last season they could get him... and if milan wont do the deal for 15 million then city could raise it to 25 million and milan could do it then but i think myself that its likely to happen!!!!
mobileclay. you did not mention arsenal about english players. what i am saying is the amount of times arsenal play and the only locals are on the bench.
OM GETAN DEJA VU A FINK A HOV HURD THASH BAFAR ABOOT A THOOSAND FECKUN MALLIAN TEEMS NAY S HAT THA FACK OPP.
Mobileclay. Again you're right. But only coz they aimed too high too soon.
RE: Fans: I live in Manchester and was around when City was bought up, and the fans (including 2 of my best mates) were saying City would qualify for Champs League this season and win EPL next season etc. But they dont even fill their own stadium. How can they consider themselves to be a big club? Espescially as they have almost no cup winning history.
I can't get my head around the "fancy-dan Brazilian attacking mibfielder who won't track back" attributes to all the aforementioned Brazilian internationals.Granted Ronaldinho and Kaka might be off their hay days, but how many players in the entire EPL can boast of getting up to 3/4 of their achievements ?The answer is definitely a single digit. Talking about Rijkaard, how many English coaches in the business can you compare to him? stop berating achievers and accord them their due respect irrespective of where they are from.
why cant wenger buy english for a change? if you look at the top three at the moment the back bone of the team are english. it should allways be like that.
deco brazilian and @#$%, not good enough for the prem.
and as for number 61 you can have berba, hes @#$%, ronaldo want to leave for a big club, and all the scummys have ever done is buy a team, the four you mentioned as a example, and dont laugh to much coz when ferggie goes as he will when all of his young crop retire which is very soon, he'll be off aswell and lets face it do you really think he'll leave you in a good state, hes had years to replace your aging has beens, and still not done it, so do you think he will over the next season or so, no chance, he wont wabnt anyone taking ver with a good side to get his glory, have you lot thought of that? no didnt think so, need brains to think, MCFC the ONLY football team to come from Manchester.
Mobileclay!!!
I understand what you're saying and fundamentally you are right. But Man City have got all that money and money was created to spend. So what else are they gonna do? They've got to buy has beens etc so people hear more and more of them. Then in 5 years or so they might be able to buy actual decent players.
Im a Utd fan by the way, and city fans suck!
Rezi b. Deco was born in Brazil.
so big gob number 53 who do you support?
#66
DECO is brazillian but he wanted to play for a country he had half a chance of getting a game with so lo and behold he got himself a portugese passport and now he can play for them but it is a fact he is brazillian
Arsenal aint going to win nothing next season if they don,t buy experience! And loan out the young one's.
How many transfers from GS have ended up true....?
arsenal need a centre back a centre midfielder and a decent striker for gibbs, denilson and adebayor.
arsenal 4 life
since when Deco is brazilian as far as i know he is from portegul
