Fox keen on contract talks

Fri 15 May, 01:31 PM

Coventry defender Daniel Fox is hopeful of sorting out a new contract with the club and has vowed to "come back with a bang" next season.

The 22-year-old suffered relegation with Walsall in 2006 but has revived his career since joining the Sky Blues last year, claiming "the gaffer [Chris Coleman] has made me into a much better player than I was this time last year".

He added in the Coventry Telegraph: "It [new contract] is always in the back of your mind to get it sorted out and it would be nice to get it done before the start of pre-season because you don't want to be playing and thinking about it, you want to be carefree and not worry about things like that.

"If I can talk to the chairman that will be great, but it is early days yet and there are two months before pre-season, hopefully I can get it sorted out before then and then come back with a bang.

"I am 22 years old and there is always room for improvement. If I was to say that I am the complete player now then I would be lying because it doesn't matter how old or experienced you are, you can always improve your game and that's what I am looking to do and I think I am in the right hands."
