Watford goalkeeper Richard Lee has set his sights on a starting role at the club after signing a new contract.

The 26-year-old penned a new one-year deal at Vicarage Road last week and is now hoping to push Scott Loach for the number one jersey.

He told the club`s official website: "In the past when I`ve had a point to prove, I`ve always had a really good season so hopefully it will be my year next season.

"I always set my goals high and want to push Scott, he`s number one and he`s great but my aim is to get in the team again.

"But if I don`t then I`ll continue to work hard and push Scott too. But if I do get my chance I fully intend to take it."
