McCall plays waiting game

Fri 15 May, 12:24 PM

Bradford boss Stuart McCall admits he may not be able to sign players until later in the summer due to the financial restrictions at the club.

The Scot wants to get high-earners Graeme Lee, Chris Brandon, Paul McLaren and Michael Boulding off the wage bill to make way for lower-cost signings.

But until those funds are freed up his hands are tied in the transfer market.

He told the Telegraph & Argus: "I've had agents on offering us players but the line for now is that we would be interested if they are willing to wait.

"Whoever's out of contract at this moment in time is going to find it tough until they have proper wage demands.

"You only have to look at what's happening. Every day clubs are releasing eight, 10 or 12 people. There are so many players available out there."
