NBA - Tony Parker became the first European to be selected the NBA finals MVP, leading the San Antonio Spurs to their fourth title in 11 years.
Parker scored 24 points in San Antonio's final 83-82 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers as the Spurs swept the best-of-seven series in four games.
Parker hit 10-of-14 shots on a variety of jumpers and drives to the basket over and around the Cavaliers' big men in the decisive fourth game.
The 25-year-old averaged 24.5 points over the four games and shot 57 percent from the field.
"It's great, just unbelievable," the Frenchman said about being named MVP.
"I'm speechless.
"When I look at that trophy I'm going to wake up tomorrow and it's still going to be a dream.
"European basketball is improving every year. You've got Dirk Nowitzki (of Dallas) the (league) MVP for the first time and now the MVP finals. There's going to be more. I'm on the list now."
