Forward thinking from MacPherson

Sun 15 Jun, 07:00 PM

St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson is looking to add "creativity" to his squad ahead of the new Scottish Premier League season. The Buddies have brought in strikers Tom Brighton and Dennis Wyness, Dundee United winger Steven Robb plus former Falkirk captain Jack Ross since the season ended.

MacPherson has also been linked with interest in another Falkirk defender, Kenny Milne, but it could be further up the field that the Love Street manager is focusing on.

"We have been able to get four new players in fairly early," he told BBC Sport.

"But we are still in the market and looking to strengthen the squad. We still have one or two things in the pipeline.

"We feel that we have got to keep trying to add creativity to the team.

"We are solid, well-organised, we know we can compete at this level of football, but especially at home, we just need to add that bit of creativity."
