Morecambe have missed out on the signing of Southend's Charlie MacDonald after the striker rejected the chance to sign for the Shrimps.The 26-year-old has revealed that location had been a big factor in his decision to turn down the opportunity of a move to Christie Park next season.

MacDonald has also attracted the interest of Brentford and Cambridge in recent weeks following his decision to leave Roots Hall.

"Location was a factor with Morecambe, but the whole set-up there didn't appeal to me," MacDonald told the Morecambe Visitor.
