Wolves striker Freddy Eastwood has set his heart on a transfer to Cardiff City.

Wales international Eastwood (pictured, right) endured a turbulent season at Molineux following his £1.5 million switch from Southend last summer, finding himself on the bench for much of the campaign.

The 24-year-old is keen to end his Wolves wilderness and would welcome a move to Ninian Park.

"I need to get away from Wolves and play - and Cardiff would be a very good move for me," Eastwood told Wales on Sunday.

"They would be attractive to anyone. They got to the FA Cup final last year and they have got a lot of good young players - you only have to look around the Welsh squad to see that.

"They have brought a lot of good players through and I know they had a little bit of a difficult season in the league, but they showed what they can do by getting to the Cup final and in the end they were unfortunate not to win it.

"Anyone would fancy something like that.

"I have had my problems with Wolves but I have shown what I can do at international level, and I know I can do the same at club level if I get the chance."

  1. Freddy Eastwood is a quality player and given his chance will take the Championship by storm. Expect to see him among the leading goalscorers if played in his rightfull position. It seems to me that McCarthy only likes buying strikers so lets hope he does is homework before splashing the cash again,so far apart from Ebanks Blake he hasn't got a very good record.Take Jimmy Floyd in part ex??

  2. Freddy Eastwood will come back to haunt Wolves next season. He will probably be the Championship highest scorer.
What amazes me is that if any club decides to spend 1.5m on a player what about doing some research before committing the money? McCarthy must have watched Freddy prior to buying him. It is obvious that he scored his goals playing in a system that suited him, this should have been obvious to a suposed experienced manager?
