Cesc Fabregas has again been linked with Barcelona after the Arsenal captain spoke of his admiration for coach Pep Guardiola.
Fabregas come up through the youth ranks at Barca before moving to Arsenal as a 16-year-old in 2003, and the Spain international has been regularly quizzed about a possible return to the Nou Camp over the last few years.
Fabregas admits he holds Guardiola in special regard, saying in Spanish newspaper Sport: "I've always looked up to him. When I was small he was my footballing hero, the player I liked most."
He added: "I've tried to imitate things that he did and as a coach he's shown again what he can do. He is a person who will always be important in my life.
"It's very clear that it would be special (to receive an offer), but I'm also very clear that Arsenal have made me captain, and for that I have added responsibility, which ties me more to the club and gives me greater hopes of lifting a title as captain of the Gunners."
Lifting a title is something no Arsenal captain has managed to do since the FA Cup success of 2005.
Last season Arsene Wenger's side reached the semi-finals of both the Champions League and FA Cup, but ended the season empty-handed.
Fabregas, who is currently with Spain at the Confederations Cup in South Africa, said: "If you don't win titles you cannot be happy, although it's true that we didn't finish badly. It hurt us a bit to lose in the semi-finals of the Champions league and cup. We couldn't take the final step.
"We lack a little to get to finals, like Chelsea in the cup or Manchester United or Barcelona in the Champions League."

Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has poured cold water on reports that he wants to join Pep Guardiola at Barcelona. "My future right now is in the same place. Arsenal have already said that I'm not for sale, which fills me with pride," the 22-year-old told Radio Marca. "If some day I left Arsenal, it would not be to stay in England. As everybody knows I really want to play in the Spanish league. In England the top four teams are much better than the others and in Spain it is more even."
CESC YOU HAVE SAID IT ALL AND IT KEEPS THE DEBATE OF WHICH LEAGUE IS BETTER TO REST IT VERY OBVIOUS THAT LA LIGA IS BETTER THAT PREMIER LEAGUE

Cesc story is almost the same story like C.Ron desire to play for Madrid and leave MANU.Cesc want to play for barca but he does feel bad for Arsenal if he leave.(Unless unlike CRon who don`t give a damn about his MAnu Fans).Cesc does feel bad for his fans if he decide to leave.I know his desire to return to Barcelona. The place where he born as a footballer.I hope he will come to Barca and strengthen Barca lineup for next season. He could be the next Arsenal star shining at LA LIGA like Henry.I can see Henry is now improving at barca compare to the time when he 1st arrive at nou camp.
No offence to Arsenal, even i hate the club b`coz of their ability to defence n beat tough opponent in important match,I still highly respect the club.during the champions league clash i do hope they beat MANU.Next season I think Liverpool,Man City and maybe Arsenal will dominate the EPL even though i don`t usually follow the EPL coz i`m a LA LIGA Fans.Anyway good luck to everyone.
LET HIM GO ITS ONLY A SPITTING DISTANCE AWAY HE CAN MANAGE THAT
