Former Reading captain Graeme Murty will celebrate the 11 years he spent at the club with a testimonial match at the Madjeski Stadium on July 20.
The game will see the current Reading side take on the Championship-winning squad from the 2005/6 season, who amassed a record-breaking 106 points under Steve Coppell.
It will be one of Brendan Rodgers' first matches in charge of the Royals, while former assistant manager Kevin Dillon will lead the opposition. Coppell is unable to attend due to family commitments.
Billed as `a night of nostalgia', the testimonial will mark Murty's long and loyal service to the club. The defender made over 300 appearances after arriving in 1998 and fans voted him Reading's best ever right-back before he was released last month.
The match had been due to take place on July 21 but will now be played 24 hours earlier so the team have more time to prepare for their pre-season tour of Sweden.
