Victor Anichebe could miss the start of Everton's season after being called into Nigeria's provisional squad for the Beijing Games next month. The striker is part of a 26-man provisional squad that leaves for a South Korean training camp on Tuesday.
This initial squad will then be whittled down to 22 and should Anichebe make the cut then he will miss the start of the Premier League campaign, with Nigeria's first game against Holland on 7th August.
Should Nigeria make the final in Beijing then Anichebe would be away for Everton's first two games against Blackburn and West Brom.
