Giovani dos Santos revealed his delight after marking his first appearance for Tottenham with two goals in an 8-0 friendly win over Tavernes. The summer arrival from Barcelona grabbed a brace in the second half, with Aaron Lennon, Tomas Pekhart (2), Jamie O'Hara (2) and Steed Malbranque also finding the net in the training ground clash with the Spanish outfit on Monday.
Recent signing John Bostock also featured in the first half but it was dos Santos who stole the show with his display.
Dos Santos told the club's official website: "It's good for me, a great start. It's also good for the team and we're all happy with how it went.
"I'm very happy to be here in this team. I feel I've settled well. The football is enjoyable and the players have helped me a lot."
Assistant boss Gus Poyet added: "The players had 45 minutes each, we've no injuries and it was a good win - that's good new for everyone.
"It's always tough to score the first goal in these games, the opposition is always very determined, but we showed good movement throughout and eventually it became easier.
"The attitude pleased me the most - the lads took it seriously and that's what we asked for.
"It was about playing football again and fitness and when you play local teams like this and start scoring goals you can relax but that wasn't the case. We drove on looking for more."
