Ince 'forever grateful' to Macc

Tue 15 Jul, 04:00 PM

Ex-Macclesfield boss Paul Ince said he would be "forever grateful" for his time at the club no matter where his managerial career takes him.Ince returned to Moss Rose with his new club Blackburn on Monday and saw his side run out 2-1 winners in a pre-season friendly.

He told Macclesfield's official website: "It was really nice to be back. I've a lot of good memories of my time at the Moss Rose as it is where I really learnt my trade as a manager.

"No matter what I do or go on to do in management it all started here at Macclesfield and I will be forever grateful for that.

"People said I was mad to come to Macc. But when I saw them for the first time at Bristol Rovers I knew they had some fighting spirit and with a bit of guidance they could survive. I woke up the next day and said 'this is the club for me'."
