Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins could field as many as six trialists in Tuesday's pre-season friendly against Brigg Town.Adkins has already completed deals to bring Garry Thompson, Kenny Milne and Gary Hooper to Glanford Park and is keen to strengthen further ahead of the new season.

The Iron boss will now run the rule over central defensive duo Mark Byrnes and Sam Oji, left-back duo Brewster Frizzell and Michael Lea, right-back Frank Belt and midfielder James Sherman.

Former Manchester United trainee Lea has been training with the club over the past fortnight, while Frizzell and Belt were released by Hull earlier this summer.

Oji, who started out at Birmingham, spent last season at Leyton Orient.
