Rangers have completed the signing of striker Andrius Velicka from Viking Stavanger.

The former Hearts frontman has moved to Ibrox for £1million and has flown straight out to Rangers' training base in Holland.

Walter Smith will now assess his fitness with a view to including him in the Gers' pre-season programme.

He told the club's official website: "We will see how he is. He didn't play in the last couple of games for Viking but that might be that they were making sure he didn't suffer any knocks before coming to join us.

"We will let him get involved in training this week and then make a decision on whether we use him in the remaining matches here."
