British number one curler David Murdoch feels the best is yet to come despite already being Scottish, European and world champion.
Murdoch (pictured) defeated Canada's Kevin Martin, who was on home ice, last winter to become world champion but faces a stiff challenge to become Olympic champion in Vancouver next year.
Great Britain won just a solitary curling silver at the last Winter Olympics, while a British male has not won curling gold since Nagano in 1998.
But Murdoch is confident he can continue his good form with a gruelling training schedule this summer.
"It's very intensive. We were at a fitness camp in Cyprus, working on strength and conditioning, and at the moment we're training six days a week" he said.
"One of the key parts of our success is the continuity of the team. We're obviously doing something right and between now and Vancouver it's more a case of fine-tuning.
"We've had 2010 in our minds for a long time now and while we produced last season we've been geared towards producing next year for plenty of time as well."
While Murdoch represents GBs best hopes of a male gold in Vancouver, female curler Eve Muirhead is not far behind.
The 19-year-old won gold at the World Junior Championships in 2007 and 2008 and Murdoch is in no doubt as to her talent.
"They may not be as settled a team as we are, but the girls are the best five players in the country without question," added Murdoch.
"We are going to see a lot from them next year and in the future and if both teams can perform well at the Olympics it will hopefully bring some new faces to the fold."
