Premier League - Fowler on target as Wolves win

Eurosport - Wed, 15 Jul 19:28:00 2009

Robbie Fowler scored on his North Queensland Fury debut but could not prevent a 2-1 defeat to Wolves in a friendly in Perth.

FOOTBALL 2008-2009 Championship Wolverhampton Wanderers Wolves-Plymouth McCarthy - 0

Wolves opened the scoring through Andy Keogh in the second minute, but Fowler's introduction after 54 minutes brought the match to life.

The former Liverpool man made no mistake from the penalty spot in the 67th minute after Wolves captain Jody Craddock brought down Jeremy Brockie.

But defender Craddock atoned for his error just seven minutes later by getting on the end of a quality corner from Andrew Surman.

His close-range header found the net with the help of a few deflections to give Wolves a tour-ending win.
