Swindon boss Paul Sturrock insists his side have learnt some valuable lessons from the 2-0 home defeat to Charlton in the Carling Cup.Town started well in the first half, but having failed to capitalise on their chances, they were put to the sword after the break.

"We were beaten by the better side but I am buoyed by our performance," Sturrock said.

"The lads performed well and sometimes you learn more in defeat than from winning."
