Albion striker misses Rovers clash

Fri 15 Aug, 12:00 PM

Brighton & Hove Albion will be without striker Glenn Murray when they host Bristol Rovers at the Withdean Stadium on Saturday. The former Rochdale forward was sent off for two bookable offences during the midweek 4-0 Carling Cup win over Barnet and serves a one-match ban.

His absence could see Adam Virgo, a successful converted centre-forward during his first spell with the Seagulls, pushed up from midfield to partner Nicky Forster in attack.

However, injury doubts over midfielders Adam El-Abd (thigh) and David Livermore (shin) mean Virgo may be needed in the centre, so Jake Robinson or Jonny Dixon could get the nod up front.

Winger Kevin McLeod is also a doubtful starter after limping out of the Barnet game with a knee injury.
