Huddersfield Town have signed Tom Denton from Unibond League Division One side Wakefield FC and the striker has penned a three-year deal.The 19-year-old passed a medical at the Galpharm Stadium on Thursday.
Blackburn Rovers and Crystal Palace are just two of the clubs who have been monitoring Denton, but the youngster has opted to join his hometown team.
Denton becomes boss Stan Ternent's eighth summer signing and will travel with the squad to Colchester this weekend but is not expected to feature.
Ternent told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have signed Tom.
"He has got a great deal of potential and I don't think it will be long before the fans see him in a blue and white shirt."
