Keane Tips Chelsea

Fri 15 Aug, 09:09 AM

Roy Keane has backed Chelsea to prevent Manchester United from claiming the Premier League title this season.

The former United skipper has a "gut feeling" the Blues will lift the title although the possible acquisition of Dimitar Berbatov could sway him.

Sunderland manager Keane said: "For me, it's Chelsea this year.

"I always felt that United would do it last year but I fancy Chelsea this time.

"There's no African Cup of Nations in January, they've got a new manager, they've bought one or two players and, for all the ups and downs, last year they still nearly nicked it.

"If United get a top striker in then they've got a chance.

"But my gut feeling this year would still be Chelsea."

  1. Roy Keane can go ahead and chose whichever team he wants to chose, but he should never 4get that Arsenal and Liverpool are closely behind, this time not waiting for any slip from ManU and Chelsea, but to wrestle the trophy 4rm any team. Roy, u had better watch out for the so called under-dogs come this season.
    GUNNERS ARE REAL.

  2. You are entitled to ur opinion and that's that. But u never can write off Liverpool and Arsenal, even Tothenham cos Ramos has built a solid team now coupled with the fact Arsenal/Liverpool have been 2gether for long. Whatever happens, the season starts 2moro and from there, we shall see.May be miracle will happen this season if Wenger wins the premiership with his young lads. GUNNERS 4 EVER.

  3. To zehst:-

How have Chelsea spent big? They get 2 quality players for roughly £22m, half the premiership have spent more than that, and if Man Utd buy Berbatov they'll have spent more than Chelsea, AGAIN!!!!!!

  5. Haha nice one Keano, ur comment is really good. Man U fans shouldnt be calling him a traitor hes actually helping Man U out, im not sure but it seems like mind games against chelsea. Keano knows how determined SA is and this will surely make the team and Man U even more determined whilst mounting some pressure on Chelsea who have spent big again and have a new manager. Although Roy might be telling what he thinks this could be a blessing in disguise. Chelsea two seasons ago were unbeatable and had just won back-toback EPL, everyone expected them to win again but guess what Man U won against the odds. Take the pressure off Man U and they will cruise.

  6. Keane liar You are forgatting the fact that United playaz have been together and a minimo change will be done to it. So it will take time to THe blue and liverfools to get used to each other as for Man u THEY WILL BE A MILE IN THE GAME. Man U 4 life

  8. kearn42,youre the one thats lost his marbles, its probably all the commuting to the pub to watch your team on television. keane is right in what he says, we took utd to the wire and if we hadn't of lost a lot of players to the african nations cup and didn't have a @#$% like grant in charge we would of won it. all you plastic mancs know it including old red face himself. chelsea by birth not glory.

  9. they allways say that to leave utd is a step down, but i did not realise it meant you lost your marbles, roy what on earth are you on about, utd will win it at a canter, chelsea stole a lot of results last year and were very lucky, that will not go on indefinately. sorry to say this roy but managing in the north east has took some of your marbles by the sound of it, but we still love ya, come home and manage utd one day and we,ll pretend this little incident never happened

  12. Yokas from Uganda, Roy Keane please do not misplace your words. He is Coaching a club in Premiership and still supporting another team, what kind of STUPID coach is that? If he wants to coach Sunderlands and also plays for Chelsea, then he is free. No one can stop Manchester from winning any trophies. Signing a new coach does not mean winning the season. Scolari has never coached any club, he is just going to join the system which MIGHT take about 4 seaons. Fergusion has been a coach for over 20years that is why he has alot of experience which yielding fruit.
Keane watch out, only wait for action.
