Croatia and Germany sealed their places in the qualifying tournament for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 with victories in the 5th-8th classification round at the European championship.

Croatia ended a run of four defeats to overcome 2005 bronze medallists France 86-69, and for the second day in a row Slovenia blew a winning position in the final quarter to lose 69-65 to 2005 runners-up Germany.

France and Slovenia get a second chance to secure the last pre-Olympic tournament slot available through the Euros when they play-off for seventh place on Sunday. Croatia will meet Germany to decide who finishes fifth.

Later on Saturday, hosts Spain face holders Greece in the first semi-final and unbeaten Lithuania take on Russia in the second.

Spain have already qualified for the Olympics as world champions. There are two automatic qualification places for Beijing and four places up for grabs in the pre-Olympic tournament.
