Team news ahead of Tuesday's programme of Championship matches with Luke Moore set to continue his partnership with Gonzalo Jara for West Brom.

2008-2009 West Bromwich Albion Luke Moore - 0

Coventry City v Sheffield United

Coventry team news to follow.

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell is not expected to make any changes to his starting line-up.

The Blades secured their second away win of the season at Derby on Saturday and although Blackwell conceded one unnamed player had sustained a slight ankle injury, it is unlikely to affect team selection for the clash at the Ricoh Arena.

Summer signing Ched Evans started on the substitutes' bench on Saturday after returning from midweek international duty with Wales and will be hoping to play a bigger role.

Blackwell has no other new injury or suspension problems as his side approach the second of three matches inside seven days, with the Blades taking on city rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Bramall Lane on Friday night.

Derby County v Barnsley

Derby manager Nigel Clough has no fresh injury concerns ahead of his side's encounter with bottom-club Barnsley at Pride Park.

Striker Steve Davies is rated 50-50 to return as he is still struggling with an ankle strain.

Midfielder Giles Barnes (Achilles) and Chris Porter (hip) are also ruled out as Clough is poised to shuffle his pack after the Rams slipped to their first home defeat of the season against Sheffield United.

Paul Green, who played an hour against the Blades having come back from a foot injury, could be rested and replaced in central midfield by Jake Livermore.

Defender Dean Leacock and Kris Commons are also vying for places with Derby hoping to secure their third home win in four matches.

Barnsley are waiting anxiously for the results of a second scan to confirm Jamal Campbell-Ryce has not suffered serious damage to his eye.

The Jamaica international was forced out of the action early in the second half in the defeat at Watford after being hit in the face by the ball.

Campbell-Ryce, expected to be sidelined for between 10 and 14 days, had an earlier scan which allayed fears the winger had suffered a detached retina and has now undergone another.

Ipswich v Nottingham Forest

Ipswich manager Roy Keane has confirmed there will be no new signings before the visit of Nottingham Forest.

Keane has been linked with a loan move for Bolton defender Danny Shittu but insists there will be no additions in time to face Billy Davies` side.

He said: "I won't comment on players who aren't at this club and there won't be anyone coming in before the game.

"But I'm still very hopeful of bringing in two more loan players. We'll be making a few more calls over the next few days.

"I'd like one or two more players and we are short in one or two areas."

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies is without Poland international Radoslaw Majewski.

The midfielder, on loan from Groclin Grodzisk, is nursing a knee injury picked up in training on Friday.

Majewski has joined defender Julian Bennett and midfielder James Perch on the sidelines.

Forward Nathan Tyson, who missed the trip to Sheffield Wednesday, is a doubt after becoming a father again in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Paul Anderson will keep his place in midfield after his man-of-the-match performance at Wednesday while Kelvin Wilson and Lewis McGugan, who made a surprise return at Hillsborough following a fractured cheekbone, are pushing for recalls to the starting line-up.

Forest, unbeaten in their last four matches, have not won on their travels since February.

Leicester City v Peterborough United

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson is set to name an unchanged side for the home encounter with Peterborough.

The Foxes are at full strength apart from midfielder Stephen Clemence, who remains on the sidelines after snapping his Achilles in March of last year.

Striker Martyn Waghorn is pushing for a recall but could be restricted to bench duty as Pearson is expected to keep faith with Steve Howard and Matty Fryatt, who notched his 50th goal for the club in their 2-1 victory over Blackpool.

Pearson's side are searching for a fourth consecutive victory at the Walkers Stadium, where they have not lost since September 2008.

Leicester were cheered on by 23,000 supporters against the Seasiders - the third largest crowd in the division on the day - and Pearson has paid tribute to the club's loyal followers.

"Your support, both in terms of turning up in numbers and backing the team, has made a real difference," he told the club's official website.

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson will be without utility man Charlie Lee. Lee missed the 1-1 draw at QPR on Saturday after turning his ankle in training and will again sit out at the Walkers Stadium.

Fringe forward Ben Wright is also out with an ankle problem but Ferguson has no other injury concerns.

Winger Chris Whelpdale returned at Loftus Road for his first appearance of the season after a summer hernia operation and he came through 70 minutes unscathed so will again be in contention for a start on the right wing.

Striker Aaron Mclean hit his third of the season on Saturday and will again partner Craig Mackail-Smith in attack as Posh look to avenge last season`s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of the Foxes.

Plymouth Argyle v Watford

Plymouth central defender Reda Johnson faces a race to be fit for the home clash with Watford.

The Benin international made his first start in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at West Brom but hobbled out with a knee injury, so Hungarian Krisztian Timar stands by.

Argyle are set to be boosted by the return of right-back David McNamee, who was ruled out at the weekend by flu.

With on-loan Cardiff right-back Darcy Blake out with a hamstring injury and McNamee unavailable, Karl Duguid featured as right wing-back in a 3-4-3 formation at The Hawthorns.

Striker Cillian Sheridan, on loan from Celtic, suffered a hip injury after his introduction as a 66th-minute substitute but has shrugged off the injury and has trained with the squad.

Watford will check on skipper Jay DeMerit ahead of the trip to Plymouth.

The centre-half missed Saturday`s 1-0 win over Barnsley with a groin injury suffered while on international duty with the USA.

Rookie defender Dale Bennett, 19, made his first start in DeMerit`s place and stands by again while fellow centre-back Adrian Mariappa took the captain`s armband.

New recruit Craig Cathcart, who agreed a loan switch from Manchester United on Monday, will not link up with the Hornets until after the trip to Home Park.

Boss Malky Mackay beefed up his midfield against Barnsley by recalling John Eustace and pushing Arsenal loanee Henri Lansbury alongside Danny Graham in attack.

The impressive Graham grabbed his fourth goal of the season to sink the Tykes.

Scunthorpe United v Preston North End

Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins is unlikely to alter the side that comprehensively beat Crystal Palace for the visit of Preston.

The Iron were 4-0 winners at Selhurst Park at the weekend and Adkins will reward those involved by naming an unchanged team to face Alan Irvine's men.

That means Jonathan Forte will again lead the line in attack with Gary Hooper forced to bide his time on the bench, with Rob Jones and David Mirfin continuing at the centre of defence.

Andrew Wright will play for the reserves on Wednesday after returning two months early from a broken metatarsal, while Kenny Milne, who has been out for 13 months with a knee injury, will also hope to be involved for the second string.

Preston boss Alan Irvine will assess the fitness of midfielder Paul Parry.

The summer signing from Cardiff was withdrawn during the second half of Saturday's 2-0 home win over Swansea with a suspected hamstring injury.

He was replaced by Chris Sedgwick, who is now on stand-by to deputise from the start at Glanford Park.

French defender Youl Mawene has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury and, although well on the road to recovery, is unlikely to dislodge Liam Chilvers.

Chilvers has forged an impressive partnership with Sean St Ledger, who is attracting strong interest from Middlesbrough, and helped North End to remain unbeaten so far this season.

Left-back Callum Davidson is ruled out for several weeks with a torn hamstring and Barry Nicholson remains a long-term absentee with a broken leg.

Sheffield Wednesday v Middlesbrough

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws expects Marcus Tudgay and Richard Wood to shake off injuries in time for the home clash with Middlesbrough.

Both players were withdrawn in the second half against Nottingham Forest, striker Tudgay due to a tweaked back muscle and defender Wood as a precaution because of a slight groin strain.

Laws will be without Francis Jeffers, who sits out the last of a three-game ban, but fellow forwards Akpo Sodje and Leon Clarke will come into the reckoning.

Sodje, who has recovered from a groin injury, replaced Tudgay on Saturday and Clarke was on the bench after finally overcoming a hamstring problem.

Midfielder James O'Connor missed out against Forest due to a hamstring strain and remains doubtful while Laws must decide whether to recall Sean McAllister to his midfield or retain summer signing Tommy Miller in his starting line-up.

Middlesbrough defender Andrew Taylor is out as he waits to discover how long he will be sidelined by an ankle ligament injury.

Manager Gareth Southgate is resigned to losing the 23-year-old full-back for several weeks after he limped off during Saturday's 3-1 win over Ipswich.

Central defender Chris Riggott is likely to be out for another eight weeks after undergoing a second operation on a knee problem.

However, Tony McMahon is expected to shake off a foot injury picked up at the weekend, while Emanuel Pogatetz (knee) is due to play for the reserves on Wednesday evening and Didier Digard (groin) is also close to a return.

Swansea City v Bristol City

Lee Trundle will sit out Swansea's clash with Bristol City as he is ineligible to play owing to the terms of his loan deal.

The skilful striker is on loan from the Robins until January and is likely to be replaced by Craig Beattie although Cedric Van der Gun will be hoping to get his full debut after coming off the bench in Saturday's defeat at Preston.

Manager Paulo Sousa also has a number of injury concerns to deal with as he aims to get his side's season on track following three defeats from their opening six games.

Striker Stephen Dobbie (ribs) is out, as are midfielder Darren Pratley (shoulder), winger Thomas Butler (hernia) and forward Guillem Bauza (knee).

Angel Rangel and Gary Monk serve the final game of their respective three-game suspensions but Ferrie Bodde could be handed his first start since November after a knee injury.

Joe Allen (hamstring) and Fede Bessone (groin) are also pushing to be involved from the off.

Costa Rica striker Alvaro Saborio is poised to retain his place in Bristol City's attack.

Saborio joined the Robins on transfer deadline day and made an impressive start to his City career as he created Nicky Maynard's goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Coventry.

Manager Gary Johnson should keep faith with Saborio for the game as a result, while he has also prevented Lee Trundle from playing against his side after allowing the striker to join Swansea on loan until January.

Defensive duo Bradley Orr and Lewin Nyatanga are fully recovered from illness and are pushing to move up from the bench but striker John Akinde is out for a month with an ankle injury.

West Bromwich v Doncaster Rovers

Gonzalo Jara and Luke Moore will continue to miss out as high-flying West Brom prepare to welcome Doncaster to The Hawthorns.

Chile international defender Jara is still awaiting a visa following his recent switch from South America but, having also been forced out of Saturday's 3-1 victory over Plymouth, is expected to arrive in the country by the middle of the week.

Moore also missed out at the weekend after he failed to recover from an ankle injury and remains a doubt for Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough.

Head coach Roberto Di Matteo has reported no fresh injuries from the victory over the Pilgrims but, at the same time, none of his long-term absentees are expected to make it.

James Morrison (heel), Neil Clement and Ishmael Miller (both knee) all remain sidelined.

Doncaster team news to follow.

Queens Park Rangers v Crystal Palace

QPR defender Fitz Hall will miss the visit of his former club Crystal Palace to Loftus Road.

The big centre-half suffered a groin tear in training last week.

But fellow Palace old-boys Ben Watson - who made his Rangers debut against Peterborough on Saturday - Mikele Leigertwood, Wayne Routledge and Gary Borrowdale should all line up against their former employers.

Striker Heidar Helguson missed the 1-1 draw at the weekend with a knee problem and will be checked over while Kaspars Gorkss could return in defence.

Skipper Martin Rowlands will push for a start after returning as a substitute against Posh following an ankle injury.

Lee Cook (knee), Gareth Ainsworth (hamstring) and Angelo Balanta (groin) are still out.

Paddy McCarthy returns to the Crystal Palace squad for the short trip across London.

The centre-half missed out against Scunthorpe on Saturday due to a one-match ban and can expect to go straight back into the starting line-up following the humiliating 4-0 defeat.

Claude Davis is still waiting to make his second debut since joining permanently from Derby, although he may need to build up his match fitness in the reserves first.

Striker Freddie Sears was limping at the end of Saturday`s game and will be checked over.

Angry boss Neil Warnock has promised changes following the weekend debacle so Sean Scannell, Nathanial Clyne, Nick Carle and Ryan Smith could all feature.

Stern John (elbow) and Calvin Andrew (knee) are still missing.

  1. Hmmm. whoever the reporter is, it is still very poor. Wonder if English is their first language or if they even

  3. sounds like the reporter has had a Jara or two!!

    From paulday448, on Tue 15 Sep 4:30PM
  4. The WBA report is complete RUBBISH again, not for the first time. How can Gonzalo Jaro continue his
partnership when he has never yet played for the club, he is waiting for international clearance.

Add to this, the fact he is a full back/centre half/ defensive midfielder, so he would not play up front with Moore in
a month of Sundays. Totally @#$% reporting again.

From Anthony, on Tue 15 Sep 3:30PM
