Adam ready for Magpies test

Tue, 15 Sep 16:23:06 2009

Blackpool midfield Charlie Adam is relishing the visit of unbeaten Championship pace-setters Newcastle on Wednesday night.

A sell-out crowd will welcome the Magpies to Bloomfield Road and Adam feels the game will offer Ian Holloway's men the perfect opportunity to bounce back from the weekend defeat to Leicester.

"The fans will be delighted to see the players Newcastle have got on show and we are looking forward to testing ourselves against the quality they have," Adam told the Blackpool Gazette.

"The atmosphere will be terrific and the good thing is that we know we are capable of getting something out of the game.

"Newcastle will still be hurting after coming down from the Premier League and they will be up for it as well, but this will probably be the perfect game for us to have after the Leicester defeat. It is going to be a good game for the fans to watch and hopefully a good game to play in."

  3. Blackpool will really be up for proving a point here, so Newcastle are going to need to put in a strong performance again. We need to start strong and try too dampen down the atmosphere among the home supporters. I think that this will be a very different test to Cardiff. W.B.A, and Crystal Palace et al. This could be more like an FA Cup tie. We need to get on top as quickly as possible, and take the wind out of the Blackpool teams sails.

I hope we don't miss Alan Smith too much. It's time for Nicky Butt to make up for some poor shows last season. 2 nil to the Toon...

Carl. Comment 1: Try not too associate Newcastle United with manchester united. They are the biggest bunch of micey individuals in English football. If we were like them we wouldn't be here. Why? Because we would have bought off a few dodgy match officials last season and stayed up. The are corrupt.

  4. Cocktail Dave, "We are always up for the top games and this will be no different" well you couldn't have played many top games then, you've only won one all season.

  5. Come on the pool, we have nothing to fear, we will win this match no problem. We are always up for the top games and this will be no different, Newcastle should prepare themselves for a shock and their first defeat of the season.
