Derby manager Nigel Clough has hailed the appointment of Mark Robins as Barnsley's new boss as "superb".
Robins, accredited with helping to save Sir Alex Ferguson from the sack at Old Trafford with a famous FA Cup winner for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest in 1990, made a lasting impression on Clough during the pair's time at Burton together.
Clough said: "I know Mark Robins well. We had him as a player at Burton and he is a top professional.
"He is a superb appointment by Barnsley and we will wish him well for the rest of the season.
"Mark is a very calm person, who will have a steadying influence on the club and over time have success and he is assisted by some very good people as well, like John Breckin and Steve Taylor."
