Derry urges Eagles to move on

Shaun Derry insists Crystal Palace cannot afford to dwell on Saturday's home humbling and vowed to bounce back as quickly as possible.

The Eagles were on the end of a shock 4-0 hiding by lowly Scunthorpe which boss Neil Warnock branded the most embarrassing result of his career.

And skipper Derry admitted: "As players we can only apologise to the fans for the performance, it simply isn't good enough.

"I was very surprised by it. Although the results might not have come so far, I thought we had been playing some good stuff this season.

"I certainly didn't see it coming and nor did any of the lads. As captain I said my bit in the changing room as did some of the other senior players, as well as the gaffer.

"It's important to try and put that behind us now and not dwell on the result. It's all about finding some consistency and we hope we can do that and repay the fans for their support."

  1. morrison,soares,watson­ and hudson have hardly proved­ themselves. Thought they were good enough for the prem­ but none were. If that is the worst palace team you­ have seen then you have not supported them for very­ long.

    We wont go down but i we do so what.... means­ nice local games against Brig*on scummers, Millwall­ scummers, clowns, brentford, Southampton, MK Dons.

Palace were rubbish towards the end of last season,the­ reason being we let players like morrison,soares,watson­ and hudson go and replaced them with inexperienced kids­ and journeymen footballers. This is by far the worst­ palace team i've ever seen in my time supporting­ them and thats saying something as theres been some­ dross. Warnock's just there for his final pay day­ and jordan can't be arsed anymore. We are certain­ to be relegated this season. Absolutely disgraceful.
