MK Dons boss Paul Ince insists his side can compete with the League One big guns after Peter Leven's late penalty inflicted a first league defeat on new Norwich boss Paul Lambert.

Chris Martin had given Norwich the lead inside a minute but Jason Puncheon scored a free-kick to level the scores before Leven netted from the spot.

The win moved the Dons up to fifth and Ince is convinced his team can maintain their place in the play-offs.

He said: "I am so pleased because Norwich are a good side who have come down from the Championship and it was a test for our players. But after the goal they didn't have a shot in the first half. We had most of the play and possession so it was a case of having a bit more belief to get something from the game and we showed that in the second half.

"Everyone is talking about Leeds and Charlton and the other clubs that have spent a lot of money at this level.

"We haven't spent much but we have a chance to show people that we are still a good side by producing performances like this."
