Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan was surprised to make such a swift return to action following his fractured cheekbone.
McGugan, wearing a protective mask, made his comeback as a substitute against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday less than a month after suffering the injury.
"I was quite surprised to be on the bench, I didn't expect it," he told Forest's official website.
"I was told I would be out for between four and six weeks after having surgery but as soon as I got the opportunity to be involved I didn't think twice.
"It was left up to me. I had a good chat with the physios and made my decision on what they said."
