Roberts: We've turned a corner

Tue, 15 Sep 11:40:52 2009

Blackburn striker Jason Roberts believes his side has finally turned the corner after a disappointing start to their league campaign.

Blackburn had picked up just one point from three previous games before Saturday's 3-1 home win against Wolves, in which Roberts opened his own scoring account for the campaign.

He said: "We have put a marker down now because we have been playing well recently without getting the rewards.

"Against Wolves it all came good for us and we could have scored more. But we have to be happy with the chances we made and the goals we got.

"We know now what we are capable because we were not getting what we felt we deserved. Now we must keep plugging away to pull ourselves up the table."

  3. steve, our comments are nothing to do with Roberts' performance or goal tally. It's about the ridiculous comment that Rovers haven't played well before Saturday and that you have to win to play well! I agree that Roberts (and McCarthy) are not up to the job!

  7. sorry peter but have you been watching the games this season.
We have been playing well just not hitting the back of the net,
Its about time rovers fans got behind the team and not against them. And considering the departures this summer due to financial reasons i feel we've played well.

  8. Well Mr. Roberts remember one fine day does'nt make a summer,we'll see what happens at Everton.By the way the team has not been playing well until this win, playing "well"means winning games !! simples is'nt it.Some forwards think just running about all over the place trying to look busy is about playing well, you know of course thats not the case.Well done for the win by the way.I never praise hard luck stories. You make your own luck.
