Rovers in Daniels worry

Tranmere goalkeeper Luke Daniels is facing a race to be fit for Rovers' trip to Exeter on Saturday.

Daniels, who is on a season-long loan from West Brom, has been the stand-out performer during the troubled start to John Barnes' tenure at Prenton Park.

But a gashed knee sustained during the 3-2 loss at home to Walsall makes him a doubt for this weekend, meaning 17-year-old Joe Collister is in line for a start between the posts.

Barnes told the Liverpool Echo: "It could be a problem for Luke because the wound is in the bend of the knee. Every time he runs or walks the knee bends and the stitches can come out."

"We may have to bring in someone, a keeper on loan, just to sit on the bench when Joe plays.

"Joe will be fine playing in the first team but if he gets injured, we will be struggling."
