Swans' poor run continues

Paulo Sousa was left frustrated again after a dour goalless draw against rivals Bristol City left Swansea with just one win from seven Coca-Cola Championship encounters this season.

The Portuguese boss has struggled to stamp his authority at the Liberty Stadium since being appointed as Roberto Martinez's successor in June.

This result leaves the Swans languishing in the lower reaches of the Championship after they largely dominated but failed to break down a resolute rearguard display from Gary Johnson's men.

Liam Fontaine almost gave the visitors an early lead, only for Dorus de Vries to pull off a superb diving save.

However, it was the hosts who had the majority of the chances, with Ashley Richards, Gorka Pintado and Nathan Dyer all spurning first-half opportunities.

There were numerous chances at either end of the pitch in the closing stages, but the score remained goalless.
