Alan Anderson scored 25 points as Maccabi Tel-Aviv cruised to an 85-65 victory over Union Olimpija in the opening Euroleague game of the season.
Maccabi were always in control of the match against their Slovenian opponents and had already built up a 10 point lead by the end of the first quarter.
Maccabi went into the game with nine new signings in their 13-man roster and there was not one Israeli player in their starting five.
Nonetheless, a sell-out crowd of 11,000 were in attendance to see Anderson lead home the perennial Euroleague challengers.
Andrew Wisniewski also chipped in with 19 points for the hosts while D'Or Fischer was the key man at the other end of the glass as he had five blocks and seven rebounds.
Matt Walsh had 18 points for the visitors but early signs suggest the Ljubljana club will struggle this season.
