Defender Jones' bones remain intact

Mon 15 Dec, 02:30 PM

Oldham's on-loan defender Daniel Jones has received the all clear after an X-ray on his ankle following the injury he picked up on Saturday. The Wolves man was feared to have sustained a broken ankle in the 2-2 draw with Peterborough, and although there appears to be no bone damage, the area remains swollen.

Jones looks likely to miss this weekend's visit of Leyton Orient, with Kelvin Lomax on stand-by to fill in at left-back, but the club will continue to monitor his progress.

Head physio Marc Czuczman told the club's official website: "Daniel's ankle is massive at the moment and we will have to wait for the swelling to go down.

"When it has we will send him for a scan and take it from there."

Meanwhile, defender Paul Black, who is on-loan at Barrow is now back at home following an operation to cure his persistent ankle problems at a private hospital last week.
