Mon 15 Dec, 12:45 PM

Jermaine Easter is out of League One side Colchester's Johnstone's Paint Trophy trip to League Two side Luton on Tuesday evening. The on-loan Plymouth striker suffered a knee injury during Saturday's 2-1 win at Leeds and is set to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the damage.

Fellow forward Steven Gillespie is close to returning following his lengthy absence with a hamstring injury, and manager Paul Lambert could be tempted to name him on the bench with seven substitutes allowed.

At the back, on-loan Marc Tierney is cup-tied having played in the competition with Shrewsbury so John White or Johnnie Jackson will step in at left-back.

Right-back Alan Maybury should keep his place after a successful debut at Elland Road and centre-half Matt Heath is close to returning from a hamstring injury.

Sam Williams (hamstring) and Matt Lockwood (knee) are still sidelined.
