Reading striker Shane Long has insisted he has no plans to leave the Madejski Stadium on loan in a bid for first-team football. The 21-year-old scored just his second goal of the season against Norwich on Saturday and has been used by manager Steve Coppell as a late substitute for the majority of the campaign.
The Republic of Ireland international has made just 19 league starts in three-and-a-half years since signing for the Royals but is content with his role at the Madejski Stadium.
He said: "A loan has never been talked about.
"I'm happy here and when you're happy it shows in how you perform.
"This squad is going places and I like being part of that."
