Pearson - Scoring must be shared

Mon 15 Dec, 01:30 PM

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson believes goals from every area of the team will prove a valuable asset if the Foxes are to achieve promotion.City have been reliant on the goals of Matty Fryatt - the diminutive striker has netted 17 times in the league this season.

But midfielders Andy King and Bruno Berner scored in Saturday's 2-1 win at Carlisle to keep Leicester at the top of the League One table.

"Matty has been hitting the headlines but over the course of the season we will have to score goals throughout the team if we are to be successful. We can't expect Matty to score every time," Pearson said.

"Andy King now has seven goals, Lloyd Dyer has eight and Steve Howard has scored four. Hopefully they can keep that up because it will help us get where we want to be."
