Suspension problems for Spireites

Mon 15 Dec, 05:00 PM

Alan Goodall will miss League Two outfit Chesterfield's FA Cup second-round replay at non-league side Droylsden through suspension. The defender only returned from a ban earlier this month following his dismissal in the league defeat at Bradford but must serve another suspension after he was shown a straight red card against Macclesfield on Friday night.

Goodall has been hit with a four-match ban as it was the second time this season he had been dismissed. He will also miss the Spireites' league games against Port Vale, former club Luton and Darlington.

Fellow defender Jamie Lowry has resumed training and is in contention after missing the 4-2 defeat to Macclesfield with an ankle injury.

Jamie Winter and Lloyd Kerry are available despite both players collecting their fifth yellow cards of the season against the Silkmen. The midfield pair will serve one-match suspensions against Port Vale on Saturday.

Victory against Blue Square North outfit Droylsden would set up a third round tie against Ipswich at Portman Road next month.
