The Hammers midfielder joined the Championship club in October and has made nine league appearances since the switch.

Quashie's current deal at St Andrews is due to expire on December 28 but the 30-year-old is keen to prolong his stay.

He said in The Sun: "If I could sign for Birmingham, then I couldn't ask for any more.

"I wouldn't hesitate to come to Birmingham because I think it will be a new start for me.

"I'm really happy with how things are going and would not change a thing.

"If I could come to Birmingham, I'd come straight away. Playing for Birmingham is what I want to do."

  1. Quashie isn't good enough for a contract. He wouldn't have got a game in any Blues team in the last five years. For goodness sake bring in some quality players who actually want to play for Blues. Unlike the talented but lazy McFadden.
